God continually uses my children to show or teach me something! Today Adde finished her last day of Pre-K2.
When we first started she would scream and cry for a little while. So much so at meet the teacher night she was screaming/crying so hard we couldn't even hear her teachers so I had to read the folder to even know their names and for a little bit I didn't know which was which because I never formally got to meet them! As soon as we would turn into the parking lot, she knew and would start crying!
At the time, to be honest I was embarrassed... Then I felt like the Lord told me to teach her to say "I am brave!" So in the morning on the way to her school, she would repeat after me through her tears... It didn't seem to make much of a difference but today I look back over this year and see such a difference! Adde LOVES school!
She wakes up early excited to go, she chooses school over hangout out with me and even asks to go on other days of the week! She has grown so much this year but mainly she conquered fear and learned what it meant to walk in bravery!
As I thought about that I thought about other kids in her class who were just fine starting school. What if we down played her walk of bravery because it didn't require bravery for some of the kids around her.
I just felt like the Lord tell me we shouldn't compare because comparison will steal so much from us.
What takes bravery for you and I might not require bravery for our neighbor. But don't worry their call to bravery is coming and most likely it will be in an area that we don't require it. We were designed that way not to compare and beat ourselves or someone else up but to walk along side each other and help one another overcome and walk in bravery!
So today... Walk in bravery don't compare, it will only keep you in fear! And when the moment comes, encourage your neighbor who is in a situation that is requiring her to be brave! I promise you will look back and see all the growth, but most of all you will see fear trampled all over because you overcame one step of bravery at a time!
Adde- I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of you! You chose bravery and you overcame! Because of your bravery your growth was exponential! I love you so much and I am so proud of you!
Be Brave!
xoxo- Elaine
